Research Interests
- Dr. Leung's research interests are in areas of data science, databases and data mining. These include efficient and effective management and storage of a wide variety of data, big data analytics and mining (e.g., design and implementation of data mining/AI/machine learning algorithms to discover knowledge like popular patterns, anomalies, clusters, prediction), data visualization and visual analytics, as well as real-world data science applications (e.g., bioinformatics, health informatics, environmental analytics, social network analysis, sports analytics, transportation analytics). Over the past decade, NSERC/Science USRA and UMVPRI/UMSU URA winners have conducted summer projects under academic supervision of Dr. Leung on these research topics.
Student Research Requirements
